SuminagashiScape: The Driftless

2022 Events

To borrow a kit apart from a drop-in event, please contact Dawn through the Contact page.

Drop In (see below for other events)

This activity is made possible through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council in cooperation with a private foundation.

1. Borrow a SuminagashiScape kit.

2. Experience the Driftless landscape in a new and meaningful way with self-guided activity prompts.

3. Create environment-inspired marbling art.

These drop-in events are first come, first served, as kits are limited. No registration required. Kits are designed to be borrowed within the event time frame and to encourage personal connection with the local landscape through meditative and artistic prompts participants respond to in a self-guided manner. Dawn will be practicing suminagashi and will provide demonstration as needed at the activity table where kits are distributed.

Supplies include paper on which you can create marbling art to take with you, as well as a sheet you may marble and leave with Dawn for display at the Capstone event.  The drop-in Capstone event will serve as a final chance to experience suminagashi (this time indoors) through this particular SumingashiScape: The Driftless grant.

See the About page for more information on Suminagashi and the SuminagashiScape vision.
